About Universal Processing

Universal Processing (uP) started in 2003 with the intent to cater to the underserved community, that all business owners should be given the tools to compete with larger businesses on an even playing field. Our founder, Saint Hung, worked for 4 of the 10 top publicly traded US banks. He was tired of seeing immigrant, minority and women business owners get marginalized in each interaction as well as the foundational considerations of these banks; anyone without a large enough bank account is relegated to robot attendants and unqualified overseas call centers when looking for assistance with their business accounts, especially Asian small business owners who need extra language support. He decided that something needed to be different, hence Universal Processing. Along the years, weve upheld our four pillars: PACT. It stands for - Be Partners - Be Accountable - Be Compassionate - Be Transcendent Since the COVID-19 recovery period, weve helped secure funding and resources for merchants of all sizes, at all stages, of all ethnic backgrounds. Were a part of the Community Navigator Pilot Program (CNPP) as a National Spoke under the USPAACCs (U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce) guidance. This program was established by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide small business owners with funding and resources to propel their growth or recovery from COVID-19, and Universal Processing was the sole Financial Technology organization out of over 400 selected entities to have earned a position within the CNPP. Weve been acknowledged by the SBA as a trusted and culturally knowledgeable partner who will connect to specific sectors of the entrepreneurial community to provide assistance during economic recovery. Thus we honor our promise to the community by: - donating 16,000 masks, generously transported in person by our CEO and COO, to support NYU Langone, Elmhurst Hospital, Bellevue Hospital Center, and various other hospitals, clinics and police and fire stations in the Tri-State Area during COVID-19. - organizing 34 in-person and virtual education sessions covering various essential topics for small businesses since 2022, with a total of 495 attendees (e.g.financial planning, certifications, inventory management, etc). As a result, 443 businesses received free business consultations and grants information through CNPP. - having a dedicated merchant support team to answer questions 24/7. All consultations are free (e.g. financial projections, business plans, license obtention, etc), offered in multiple languages and tailored to individual merchants needs. Driven by our steadfast commitment to Partnership, Accountability, Compassion, and Transcendence (PACT), we provide an accessible, reliable suite of payment solutions, with community engagement initiatives and philanthropic contributions showcasing this dedication. Weve empowered over 31,000 merchants, saved them over $39.8 million, while annually processing over $3 billion. Recognized as the first AAPI-owned company in American history to be a finalist for the Electronic Transaction Associations ISO of the Year award, our 21-year industry expertise underscores our excellence in fostering strong partnerships.
