About Two Rivers Fisheries

Here I wanted to share some exciting news about a remarkable venture of Two Two Rivers Fisheries . Founded and operated by Angie Yu, we have taken on the formidable task of addressing the Asian carp problem in the United States. Asian carp is an invasive species that has caused significant ecological issues across many waterways. The government has spent considerable resources trying to control and eliminate this fish due to its detrimental impact on local ecosystems. Two Rivers Fisheries has turned this environmental challenge into a business opportunity. The company purchases Asian carp from more than commercial 100 fishermen, processes the fish, and exports the product to 11 countries. In the past 11 years, we have processed over 30 million pounds of fish. The fish is fully utilized. Our products are frozen fish , fish head, salted and smoked fish, fish meat, fish dog treats, fish jerky, fish snacks for human food and pet food markets. The waste goes to fish meal and fish fertilizer. Even the fish bones go to bone jewlery and fish skin goes to leather. This remarkable feat not only helps reduce the population of this invasive species but also supports the livelihoods of over 100 fishermen and provides full-time employment for 30 additional staff members. The success of Two Rivers Fisheries is a prime example of turning trash into treasure. By transforming a problematic fish into a valuable export commodity, they have become the largest Asian carp exporter in the United States. Their innovative approach is making a significant impact both environmentally and economically. Two Rivers Fisheries is not just content with their current achievements; we have ambitious goals for the future. Our vision is to industrialize the Asian carp along the Mississippi River, contributing to the cleanup of the freshwater system and creating jobs in rural areas to stimulating local economies. The story of Two Rivers Fisheries is inspiring . We are Wall Street Journal first page in 2014. National Geography have a documentary of us and they put us on PBS TV. We are making strides towards ecological restoration and community development. It is a testament to the positive impact that innovative thinking and dedication can have on both the environment and local communities. In summary, Two Rivers Fisheries, under the leadership of Angie Yu, is making a significant difference by processing and exporting Asian carp. We have turned an invasive species into a profitable venture, benefiting the environment and local communities. With our continued efforts and ambitious goals, we are set to make even greater contributions in the future. Our work serves as an inspiring model of how environmental challenges can be transformed into opportunities for growth and development.
