About Nurses Care, Inc.

Nurses Care Inc is a home health care agency established in 1991 in the Cincinnati-Dayton area. When we started we were small and had no corporate backing, but 33 years later we are still going strong! It is our dedication to patient care, professionalism, integtrity, and compassion that has kept us thriving. Sheila Rush, her daughter (Tami), and son (Josh) own the company. We send physical, occupational, and speech therapists, nurses, certified nurse aides, and medical social workers to patients homes to care for them. All of our employees go through rigorous background checks and training to insure the best patient care possible. We have never sacrificed integrity in order to make a fast buck. Our patients are generally the hardest cases that need the most care and cost more to service, but we accept them because that is why we started our company. We always go above and beyond to care for our patients. This has given us the impeccable reputation that we have. Our reputation goes far beyond patient care, however. We are a family owned and operated agency, and we treat our employees like family. We have employees that have been with us 5, 15, and up to 27 years! That says a lot for any company in any industry, but the health care industry is especially difficult. The federal, state, and local governments that regulate the health care industry are constantly changing and imposing new regulations that make it tougher and more costly to abide by, increasing work loads, yet decreasing payments in a lot of areas. We are constantly having to keep up with regulatory changes and establishing protocols. We have been through the Medicare Fee For Service in the early 1990s, the Interim Payment System in the late 1990s, the Prospective Payment System in 2000, and the PDGM system in 2020. These were all huge payment and regulatory changes. Most recently the huge HMOs began marketing the Medicare and Medicaid clients, imposing pre-authorizations and controlling discharges, putting a damper on the amount of services we are allowed to provide. The Covid years 2020-2021 were especially difficult with many nurses leaving the medical profession. Most of ours remained faithful, but new nurses became harder to find. However, Nurses Care has been innovative in establishing new areas to service: staffing hospitals, caring for patients affected by nuclear radiation, servicing pediatrics and VA, and increasing private duty services. Nurses Care is JCAHO accredited Deem Status! JCAHO is the toughest accreditation process there is, and achieving Deem Status makes it even more impressive. Nurses Care has won such prestigious awards as the 2016 BBB Eclipse Integrity Award, 2021 BBB Torch Award, 2019 finalist for Business of the Year, and Industry Techs Top Ten CEOs of 2023. We continue to be charitable to the communities we serve by providing disaster relief, giving Christmas gifts and Thanksgiving meals, supporting charitable institutions, as well as baseball, soccer, and football teams. We look forward to many more years of service!
