SHIELDS Windshields is a family-owned and operated plastic windshield manufacturer. We are now on our 3rd generation of family. Bill and Jacki Shields founded the company in 1975 in their garage. They built their first building in 1979, and we have expanded from that building seven times. Starting with one product, the Silloutte Fairing, Bill and Jacki made their name in the plastics world. In 1999, Brad Shields, their son, joined the company and started SHIELDS, a division of FormTec Plastics. 98% of the company operates under the SHIELDS name. From one windshield product to now over 700 SKUs, we provide windshields for people across the globe. Now, with the 3rd generation, we are expanding and growing faster. Jacki and her son Brad are our current owners. Our product crosses many industries. From motorsports and racing to marine applications to heavy equipment, we provide high-quality, optically correct polycarbonate windshields for most of the vehicle market. Our bread and butter is construction equipment. If you have ever broken a piece of glass, you are our target market. We replace glass with polycarbonate with the form, fit, and function of OEM glass. We sell a 1/2 thick window that used to be 1/4 glass! Our products are at minimum 260X stronger than glass, 50% of the weight of glass, and we add a hard coat on the entire window for abrasion resistance. What truly sets us apart from our competitors is our unique ability to shape windows. We are known in our industry for being the company that takes on massive, complex-shaped windows. With almost 50 years of experience in shaping plastic, we developed a proprietary method that allows us to create shapes while retaining optical clarity and precision CNC capabilities. As impressive as our forming capabilities are, our people make the difference. We are a company with wonderful people on our team. All of our processes are done in our facility, and any third parties are local. If you watch our commercials, my father mentions that his name is SHIELDS, and he makes WINDSHIELDS. Our name is on every product, and we take immense pride in that. When someone works with us, they get a team that is bought in, and we show our passion. Our commitment to quality and safety is what makes us profitable. We are constantly introducing new products that we reverse engineer and replace glass. Our products are in high demand due to their superior quality and safety features. We are continually innovating to be better. Our product is our inspiration to us.
