Fluffy’s Sno-Balls is a New Orleans Mardi Gras theme concept that make authentic New Orleans Sno-Balls, which is a shaved ice confection topped with over 80+ flavors including sugar-free. Fluffy’s Sno-Balls is owned by Mr. Kevin Lee-Wellington who is a native of New Orleans, LA and moved to L.A. as a result of Hurricane Katrina. In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, what Mr. Lee-Wellington thought was a 16-year dream deferred; he decided to step out on faith and start his own company, which has now become a destiny fulfilled. Fluffy’s Sno-Balls is one of the most unique companies in Los Angeles; not only for making aunthentic New Orleans sno-balls, but also, for the customer service experience it provides. Fluffy’s Sno-Balls have the largest flavor selection in CA, they allow customers to taste-test as many flavors as they like, and mix and match as many flavors as they choose free of charge. They allow kids to become honorary employees, by having them make their own sno-ball. Fluffy’s Sno-Balls have also created the ”Voodoo” sno-ball, which has smoke shooting out the sides of it as customers enjoy their dessert. The store is always filled with a festive vibes of New Orleans Mardi Gras. The company pride itself on its commitment to service, domestically and internationally. Fluffy’s Sno-Balls host several free community events focusing on low socio-economic families. An annual Free Community Pumpkin Carving and Halloween Costume contest; Community Tree Trimming; Beat the Heat Day, giving away free sno-balls to the unhoused and local people in the community. The company hires local high school kids from low socio-economic backgrounds. The company also have given away and purchased several laptop computers for these students. Fluffy’s Sno-Balls have also become a safe space for LGBTQIA+ teens to work and get mentoring, development and leadership. In the Winter of 2023, Fluffy’s Sno-Balls went to South Africa and purchased and gave away 29-pair of shoes and neccessities directly to children in the township of Soweto. In a 3-years span, Fluffy’s Sno-Balls has grown from just a little Ice Cream Shop to being recognized nationally and internationally, as a Top Growing American Small Business. Fluffy’s Sno-Balls is a certified Minority Business Enterprise through the National Minority Supplier Development Council. In 2023, YELP rated Fluffy’s Sno-Balls as the Top #5 Ice Cream Shop in the U.S. and Canada combined. Due to this internationally recognized distinction, the company have received mulitple awards, distinctions and certifications from corporations, Mayors, City Council Members, and State Legislatures. In 2024, the United States Congress presented Fluffy’s Sno-Balls with a Certificate of Recognition, ”for being named the #1 Ice Cream Company in the State of California and Top #5 in the country; its devotion to hiring youth have made this establisment a premier dessert destination in our community. Fluffy’s Sno-Balls have remained profitable through the re-investment of profits back into the company. The company has a bookkepper and an Accountant to ensure that the financials of the company remain solvent, compliant and profitable.
