About Dry Goods Refillery

Dry Goods Refillery is a family owned, sustainable grocery store and refill shop founded in early 2020, right before the global pandemic. As New Jerseys first plastic free grocery store, our mission is to curate a high quality assortment of products for eco-minded consumers who prioritize sustainable foods and mission based businesses. We allow our customers to reuse and repurpose their own containers to refill on over 275 refillable products, ranging from beans, rice and cooking oils to soaps and detergents. We have expanded to include fresh produce and local dairy, uniquely positioning us as the only one-stop-shop refillery in the state. Creating Dry Goods Refillery has saved nearly 150,000 containers from landfill in just a few short years, proving that small daily acts can add up to significant environmental change. In addition, this concept has inspired many others both across the country (and the world!) through our educational and inspirational content on social media platforms. With nearly 250K followers on TikTok, we have drawn the attention of political leaders, celebrity investors and, most importantly, everyday people who have sought out refilleries or sustainable alternatives closer to home. We are looking to change habits, and also increase mindfulness about waste and plastics, though everyday routines. Despite the last few years of small business challenges (global pandemic, rising food costs, inflation), our business has been fortunate enough to be featured on various news segments and publications and recognized in national press outlets, including as a 2023 Finalist in The UPS Stores Small Biz Challenge. With each opportunity we attempt to spread the word about our unique business model, as well as refilleries in general, and try to inspire anyone who will listen about how daily actions and behaviors can provide true environmental benefit and change. One key to our growth and success has been meticulously curating our assortment with precision in order to maintain our standards while still focusing on minimizing expenses and maintaining margins. We keep our inventory lean, but rotating consistently, in order to ensure the best products for our customers while keeping procurement costs low. Its also this focus on quality ingredients and environmental standards that has created a strong TRUST with our customer base. This relationship has grown into a true COMMUNITY of people who not only support our small business, but who believe in our mission and come to us as industry experts and see us as leaders within it. In an attempt to prove this concept approachable and inclusive, we have ensured the ability of all members of our community to participate by supporting those who use EBT benefits and food assistance programs with a complimentary 15% off discount. In addition, we are a member of NJ Good Food Bucks where customers are able to purchase high quality produce at 50% off when using their benefits in our store. These kinds of collaborations are part of our mission to show that sustainability is something everyone can participate in, and is not only a luxury experience.
